A travel-safety platform in your pocket: a live map of Rio that knows the hour, one-tap SOS that reaches a real crew, a Lookout you can hire, real payments in two currencies, and a concierge that answers. It started as a focused first release and has been shipping ever since.
One home for the whole trip
Travelers had a confirmation email, a PDF guide, and a group chat scattered across three apps. The brief: pull it all into one place that opens on the home screen and feels like a real app, not a web page.
It has to work with no signal
People land in a new country with a dead SIM and no Wi-Fi. The itinerary, the guide, and the crew details had to be on the phone already, ready the second they touch down at Galeão.

- An installable PWA first, added from a link, then wrapped and released through the App Store.
- Full offline support: a service worker caches the trip, so it loads with no signal.
- A client-side concierge bot that answers from the BBE playbook, with no API cost.
- A Guardian safety net: phone-away zones, snatch detection, red-zone alerts, and one-tap SOS.
- WCAG AA: heading order, focus states, alt text, reduced motion, and safe-area insets.
From app to platform.
- Real payments: Stripe checkout with subscriptions, coupon windows, refunds, and Brazilian Pix in reais.
- Passwordless accounts: email magic links and invite codes for booked travelers.
- A live safety map of Rio: 85+ zones that know the hour, robbery vs theft handled differently, police-presence aware.
- One-tap SOS that fans out to the whole crew, with a realtime team dashboard behind an admin key.
- A Lookout marketplace: browse vetted locals nearby, meet free, hire on the spot, with an on-call shift board for the crew.
- Travel Buddy matching, an ambassador program with a commission ledger, and a full EN/PT language toggle.
- Store-ready: the same codebase wrapped for iOS, released on the App Store, with Google Play prepped.
